Looking back on SONHA SSP’s journey at highly-functional Material Week Tokyo 2026
From September 30 to October 2, 2026, at Makuhari Messe in Japan, SONHA SSP participated in Highly-functional Material Week Tokyo 2026 alongside more than 1,200 international exhibitors. Showcasing its “Made in Vietnam” stainless steel products, the company spent three days meeting and engaging directly with customers and partners, while establishing new connections in both the Japanese and international markets.

SONHA SSP at the Heart of the Materials Industry’s Connections
Highly-functional Material Week is a specialized exhibition that brings together a wide range of material sectors, including metals, plastics, films, ceramics, sustainable materials, and technologies related to material manufacturing, processing, testing, and analysis. This year’s event featured more than 1,200 international exhibitors, alongside a series of concurrent specialized exhibitions covering materials and manufacturing technologies.

Within the exhibition, SONHA SSP participated in METAL JAPAN — a dedicated area focusing on metal materials, manufacturing technologies, processing, testing, and recycling, connecting suppliers with industry professionals across sectors such as electronics, automotive, batteries, construction, and metal fabrication.
At Hall 1, Booth 4-54, SONHA SSP showcased four product lines: industrial welded stainless steel pipes, ornamental welded stainless steel tubes, seamless stainless steel pipes, and cold-rolled stainless steel coils.
Throughout the three-day exhibition, the SONHA SSP booth welcomed nearly 200 visitors, primarily from Japan, along with customers and partners from Taiwan, South Korea, China, India, and several other markets.
Beyond viewing the displayed product samples, many visitors spent time engaging directly with the SONHA SSP team to discuss technical specifications, quality standards, supply requirements, and the company’s ability to meet market-specific demands. These face-to-face discussions provided SONHA SSP with valuable practical insights into customer needs while also creating promising opportunities for continued engagement after the exhibition.
Notably, on the opening day, the SONHA SSP booth welcomed representatives from the Vietnam Trade Office in Japan for a visit and discussion. The meeting created further opportunities to gain updated market insights, connect with potential partners, and support the trade promotion activities of Vietnamese enterprises in Japan.

Putting Products at the Center and Bringing Vietnam’s Manufacturing Capabilities Closer to International Markets
At an exhibition dedicated to advanced materials and manufacturing technologies, products serve as the starting point for meaningful exchanges between manufacturers and the market.
For SONHA SSP, the four product groups showcased in Tokyo represented not only the company’s manufacturing portfolio, but also an opportunity for customers and partners to directly assess the quality, technical specifications, standards, and supply capabilities of a stainless steel manufacturer from Vietnam.
Through discussions at the booth, SONHA SSP received positive feedback from customers on both product quality and manufacturing capabilities. These exchanges were particularly meaningful in approaching the Japanese market and other international markets, where technical standards, product consistency, and quality control capabilities are key criteria in the supplier selection process.

SONHA SSP’s stainless steel pipes are currently manufactured in accordance with a range of international standards, including ASTM standards in the United States, JIS standards in Japan, as well as standards applicable to European markets. The company’s quality management system is established in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, while its stainless steel pipes have obtained PED certification issued by TÜV Germany.
With an annual production capacity of more than 80,000 tons of stainless steel, SONHA SSP products are now present in over 50 countries and territories, including the United States, France, Poland, Russia, Brazil, and India. Building on its manufacturing capabilities in Vietnam, the company is steadily expanding its market presence and bringing “Made in Vietnam” stainless steel products deeper into international supply chains.
From Tokyo, Continuing the Journey of Expanding International Connections
Highly-functional Material Week Tokyo 2026 represents another milestone in SONHA SSP’s ongoing international trade promotion activities, aimed at expanding its network of customers and partners while strengthening its presence in high-potential markets.
Prior to Japan, the company had participated in many of the world’s leading industry exhibitions. Each event has provided not only an opportunity to showcase products, but also a valuable platform for SONHA SSP to directly engage with different industrial ecosystems, market demands, and technical standards. These experiences have helped the company gain further insights to continuously improve its products and enhance its ability to meet diverse market requirements.
The three days at Makuhari Messe have come to an end, but the conversations initiated during the exhibition will continue to be closely followed up by SONHA SSP. The specific requirements identified, the customers and partners connected, and the potential cooperation opportunities established during the event will provide a foundation for the company to further explore and develop business relationships in Japan and other international markets.
