The Kelpies

The Kelpies is a renowned sculpture in Scotland, located between the towns of Falkirk and Grangemouth. Designed by artist Andy Scott, this masterpiece was unveiled in October 2013. The Kelpies consist of two massive horse head sculptures, each standing about 30 meters (98 feet) tall and weighing approximately 300 tons.

This sculpture is part of the regeneration project along the Forth and Clyde Canal known as “The Helix,” initiated in 2005. The Kelpies symbolize the strength and resilience of horses, which were the backbone of Scotland’s economy for centuries, especially in industry and agriculture. Artist Andy Scott chose stainless steel as the material for its durability and the visual impact it provides. He explained, “Stainless steel gives the effect I was looking for—a light, almost delicate quality against the natural backdrop.”

Reflective Lullaby- Frankie

Reflective Lullaby – Frankie is a well-known sculpture located in the beautiful port city of Melbourne, Australia. This artwork, made from 316 stainless steel, stands 9 meters tall. The primary materials used in Reflective Lullaby – Frankie are mirror-polished No.8 stainless steel tubes and sheets with a thickness of 2.5-3mm.

Reflective Lullaby is not only a piece of high artistic value but also creates a unique highlight in the public space, attracting many visitors and art lovers to admire its beauty.

Len Lye Museum

Opened in mid-2015, the Len Lye Museum, located in New Plymouth, New Zealand, is a unique and impressive architectural work designed to honor the life and career of New Zealand artist Len Lye. Renowned for his work in film, kinetic sculpture, and as a pioneer in media art, Lye’s legacy is celebrated through this museum. The Len Lye Museum is part of the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery and was designed by renowned architect Andrew Patterson.

A distinctive feature of the Len Lye Museum is its shimmering façade made from approximately 32 tons of Austenitic 316L stainless steel sheets. These sheets reflect light and the surrounding landscape, creating a very special visual effect when viewed from different angles. This stunning effect has made the building a major tourist attraction in the city.

Cloud Gate – The Bean

Located in Millennium Park in Chicago, USA, the artwork Cloud Gate (also known as The Bean) is a famous public sculpture. Inspired by liquid mercury, Cloud Gate evokes the image of a gateway to the sky, connecting earth and heaven. The name “Cloud Gate” signifies a portal linking two realities. This artistic masterpiece was built to welcome the new millennium while also establishing a recreational space featuring gardens, an ice skating rink, galleries, and public artworks.

Cloud Gate – Shining in the Park

The artwork is crafted from 168 stainless steel plates, polished to the point where no seams are visible to the naked eye. Measuring 33 x 66 x 42 feet (10 x 20 x 13 meters) and weighing 110 tons, its shape has earned it the affectionate nickname “The Bean.”
